What You Ask

What You Ask

What you ask
Is not always
what you’re
comfortable with

What you need
Never easy
But you deserve it
So try to get it

What you care about
Always too small for others
Always too big than real
Unless you start doing it

Anekdot Crayon Billy

Anekdot Crayon Billy

I

Sebuah anekdot.
Tentang seorang gadis kecil
yang mendatangi makam kakeknya
dan menulis surat yang isinya,
“Dear Grandpa, I wanted to be with you longer. But you died.”

II

Akhirnya saya paksain minum air putih biar muntah.

;) Yuk mari.

Lingsir Wengi

Lingsir Wengi

Lingsir wengi sliramu tumeking sirno

I tap shakingly on my keyboard
The vibe is strangling and short
Don’t come to me tonight, I pray my Lord

Ojo tangi nggonmu guling

Dream with your eyes open
Ancient light will be darken
Courage will carry your burden

Awas jo ngetoro, aku lagi bang wingo wingo

Your steps I hear
Your wide eyes I fear
Long white hair, ears of deer

Jin setan kang tak utusi
Dadyo sebarang
Ojo lelayu sebet

You come appear tonight
The chant has come out right
As you laugh the night out
and take away my blood

Selamat malam Jum’at. Kiikikikk…-ughughk-ughughk!!

Creating Believable Characters

Creating Believable Characters

The first step to creating characters that are believable is to understand what makes a person who they are.

As Larry Brooks so perfectly details in his eBook, The Three Dimensions of Character, there are three things that make up who you are (and who your characters are):

  • Surface Traits, Quirks and Habits
  • Backstory and Inner Demons
  • Action, Behavior and World View

Bacaan singkat tapi nolong banget nih buat ngembangin tulisan fiksimu.

Selamat menulis. :)

[Fiksi] Reggie’s Plunged Off His Boat

Write a story that ends with ” and everything was over for both of them “?

Finally, he’s gonna do it. Reggie sneaked out and got in his father’s boat. He spent the whole night trying to catch that giant silver blue marlin.

At dawn, the rope over the side of the boat rattled. Reggie grabbed it and put it over his shoulder and pulled as hard as he could. His heart pounded, his throat filled with cold air and was sore.

The boat under his feet was struck by something below the water. The boy picked up the harpoon and aimed the sharp point to a silver line on the back of the mighty fish. He shot once. Again and it went through the silver blue marlin’s tail.

Before he realised what was happening, Reggie plunged into the cold ocean as the giant marlin swam into the deep. The boy wouldn’t let it go as he tightened his grip to the rope. The giant marlin swished its tail and took a turn. Reggie’s body was thrown to one side like a mere doll and then hit a tall hard cliff. The boy passed out under water. The giant silver blue marlin kept swimming to the rock bottom, and to its death as blood kept coming from its tail.

And everything was over for both of them.

Pertemanan

Pertemanan

Terkadang pertemanan itu
Ketika kita bersebelahan
Tapi kita merasa berjauhan
Lalu bertemu dan melepas kangen

Dan saat itu kita baru menyadari
Bahwa seorang teman tak pernah kemana-mana

Jarak hanyalah komunikasi
dan kadang kesulitan memahami situasi

Tapi hati tetap hangat dibawah sana
Merindukan
Mengasihi

Dan akhirnya…
Menyentuhkan ujung kaki pada lutut kawan

Dan memainkan alis jenaka

Dan tertawa bersuka

Seolah untuk selamanya

lol

Siapa saja teman baikmu? Sudahkah menyapa mereka hari ini? ;)

For A Few Words

For A Few Words

For a few words I’ve spoken
They became a knife to myself
more than to anybody else

And it’s not that I’m double-sided or triple
Everybody has a fluctuative hundred
Each for a closer distance between us

And I have a problem
You have a problem
I’m not too proud of it for once
And it may not always be delighting
to take one from an unhealthy mind

And I have my concerns to ditch places
Ones I hope you see now light-heartedly
And finally, please forgive my life

World Book and Copyright Day

Hari ini hari..ya, hari buku dan copyright.

23 April is a symbolic date for world literature for on this date in 1616, Cervantes, Shakespeare and Inca Garcilaso de la Vega all died. It is also the date of birth or death of other prominent authors such as Maurice Druon, Haldor K.Laxness, Vladimir Nabokov, Josep Pla and Manuel Mejía Vallejo.

It was a natural choice for UNESCO’s General Conference, held in Paris in 1995, to pay a world-wide tribute to books and authors on this date, encouraging everyone, and in particular young people, to discover the pleasure of reading and gain a renewed respect for the irreplaceable contributions of those who have furthered the social and cultural progress of humanity. In this respect, UNESCO created both the World Book and Copyright Day and the UNESCO Prize for Children’s and Young People’s Literature in the Service of Tolerance.

Buku apa yang sedang/terakhir kali kamu baca?

Mengajimu

Mengajimu

Lantunan polos dan lantangmu
Semangat belajar dan mampumu
Dalam 30 menit dudukmu
Di hadapan kitab suci bersampul emasmu

Mengajimu melembutkan desir darahku
Melengkapi ringan keraguanku
Menjadi rentetan kagum dan damaiku
Mengajimu menenangkan hatiku

ngaji

Seneng liat anak-anak masih rajin ngaji tiap malem dari Senin-Jum’at. Si Dimas masih Iqra, tapi Insya Allah udah makin lancar bacanya dari sebelum-sebelumnya. Bang Bagus mengaji lantang membaca Al-Qur’an-nya. Bikin kekosongan udara malam jadi nggak sia-sia (aseek..). Jadi nggak cuma dengerin sinetron di TV hehe. :P
